What is EdGrow?

Senthalan VyravanathanSeptember 2, 2025

Every seed of change has its story. For us at HABB, that seed was EdGrow – our dedicated path to education growth.

Edgrow Logo

It all began as an idea brought into HABB by Andrew Asher. From there, our team shaped it into reality – starting with the website edgrow.habb.lk, a logo designed by our director Sanjeev Vijayaratnam , and early promotions that carried the brand into the world with Senthalan Vyravanathan, Thulaxan Uthayakumar & Thenujan Amirthanathan.

But EdGrow was never just a name. It became a movement. now grown up as edgrow.lk.

  • Our AI team, led by Andrew Asher ,Thiksiga Ragulakaran ,and the dev squad lead by*Senthalan Vyravanathan , began building U-Learn*, an AI-powered web app for personalized learning. Sarmitha Suntharamoorthy and Vithusha Pathmanathan crafted the UI and front end, while data collection powered its engine.

U Learn App.

  • Parallel to this, the heart of EdGrow grew in the field. Aryan Nava (Gajeeban Navaratnaraja) from Canada and his wife Anu Gajeeban joined hands with us – sponsoring 4 preschools and Vavuniya Fashion Academy. VFA became a hub for women’s empowerment, teaching beauty, sewing, and Aari work. More than 200 women graduated, many stepping into their own businesses.

On the ground, EdGrow wasn’t just ideas – it was action.

  • Our team visited preschools and VFA, capturing moments on video through Tharshika Loganathan, featured online with Meerusha Rajkumar, and brought to audiences by Ajiththana Kalaiyarasan‘s social media touch.
  • Senthalan managed the website, while Thuverakan Tharumakulasooriyan, Sarmitha, Vithusha,Yubitha Sivagnanam,Arthigan ArthiganAnujeyan andAntanad Nivetha Christian Nirmalaraj built up the educational resources.
  • Official EdGrow events were powered by Gobiga Kurukulasingham and Sabesan – relatives of Ariyan who stood with us every step.

Most recently, EdGrow sponsored an inspiring event with 45 preschools in the Northern District. As Ariyan shared, this region faces one of the harshest educational inequalities. Preschool teachers – who lay the foundation for every child’s future – earn just Rs. 6,000 a month. EdGrow has stepped in, working with the Education Department to fight for fair pay and recognition for these teachers. Because strong education always begins with strong teachers.

This is the EdGrow journey so far – from a spark of an idea to a growing movement for change. And this is only the beginning.
